The MSC.Patran for Marc utilizes an Analysis Preference which provides
data translation between MSC.Patran and Marc. This interface provides
features and utilities which are accessed directly during a MSC.Patran
session. The Marc Analysis Preference is composed of two software
programs: PAT3MAR (for translation from MSC.Patran to MSC.Marc)
and MARPAT3 (for translation from MSC.Marc to MSC.Patran).
MSC.Patran
to MSC.Marc
PAT3MAR converts data from the MSC.Patran database to a MSC.Marc
run-ready input deck. PAT3MAR translates the entire analysis model,
including finite element data, material properties, loading conditions
and other analysis-dependent information.

MSC.Marc
to MSC.Patran
MARPAT3 translates data from the MSC.Marc post file into the MSC.Patran
results database. The analysis results translated can be superpositioned,
sorted, and output in report format in order to provide additional
insight to the analyst.
