MSC.FEA combines the power and ease of use of MSC's most popular software programs, MSC.NASTRAN and MSC.Patran, into a cost-effective, integrated solution tailored for the needs of mechanical engineers. MSC.FEA combines CAD interfaces, geometric modeling, finite element pre- and post-processing, and comprehensive analysis capabilities into one integrated software package set in a Windows-like graphical user interface.
With MSC.FEA, engineers can quickly create parts with two- and three-dimensional wireframe, surface, and solid geometry. Additionally, they can import geometry from CAD systems via one of MSC.FEA's CAD access options. This includes IGES, Parasolid and ACIS for general CAD data or, for specific CAD systems, direct access to CADDS 5, CATIA, Euclid, Pro/ENGINEER, and Unigraphics geometry. Once the geometry has been created or imported, engineers can build the analysis model by using a powerful suite of meshing tools. The extensive linear and nonlinear analysis capabilities include: statics, dynamics, heat transfer and optimization. The package is completed by its comprehensive graphical and numerical post-processing features.
